Beyond the Surface: Decoding Dreams and the Hidden Potential of the Mind
Cynthia Marks talks with podcast executive producer Bobby Kalhor about how producing a documentary on Dr. Bernard Bail led him to have his own dream personally interpreted by Bail, which convinced him that dreams reveal unconscious messages tied to the mother's imprint, and about their shared hope that this podcast can spread Bail's teachings to a wider, especially younger, audience.

Hi, my name is Cynthia Marks. I head up the Holistic Psychoanalysis Foundation established by my late husband, Dr. Bernard Bail. Welcome to and Now love and welcome Bobby Kalhor. Thank you for joining us today. Bobby is the executive producer of this fabulous podcast, and we are in his wonderful sound studio. Thank you so much. Good to be here. Bobby is the executive producer of our program and we have a lot to talk about. So first of all, Bobby, how did you get involved in this? It's an interesting story. It affected my life as well. Several years back, a friend of mine kind of approached me and said, I have a mutual acquaintance, that he's a psychoanalyst.
He's been doing it for a long time. And this was when Dr. Bail was in his late nineties, asked me to come on board and try to convey his message. There was already a documentary done, a well-done documentary about his life “And Now, Love”, but that documentary kind of concentrated somewhat on his work, but more about his life. He had a fascinating life and his history, and I was tasked with conveying his his teachings. Never did I expect that this would become a big part of my life personally as well. Dr. Bail did affect me. His teachings did affect me as they would to anybody who understood them.
One of the difficulties for me was understanding it took a couple of years, honestly, a year, year and a half of just interviewing with him. And we used to come to your house back then because he was frail and it was difficult having him leave. And we had to come up to come and set up the whole set in your living room. And it was very informative. It was it taught me a lot, but it was difficult because his voice was so frail. He was low energy. He would get tired, his eyes with water, but he was sharp as a tack until the very, very end. We tried with Dr. Loren Wiener, his right hand man, as you would say, a right hand woman, and she was kind of tasked with continuing his teachings.
There were very few people that have trained with Dr. Bail, maybe a handful or, you know, less than ten people that know his methods. They're all very successful in their field. They're all treating a lot of very important patients. We tried we did a lot of interviews with him. We did a lot of talks with Loren COVID hit. So we we had to kind of go on a pause, but we weren't able to continue with Dr. Bail. He passed everything went on a pause for a couple of years. I had personal disappointment that I wasn't able to do what I was tasked with doing for multiple reasons.
One was Dr. Bail's situation himself. The other one was the nature of this, this message your dreams, your imprints, your true self. I'll tell you the truth, I was kind of playing in the dark for a while until he interpreted it. One of my dreams. We sat down and Dr. Bail did. Did one of my dreams and it was one of the most fascinating experiences I've had. It taught me that there's some part of me giving me messages now. I've been missing these messages my whole life. But with that session that I had with him and him interpreting this, I, I discovered what it is that he's talking about, that what you guys are talking about.
And unfortunately, he passed after that. And I didn't get a chance to fully bring bring his his ideas to life. But they stuck with me. The concept of my dreams, the concept of my mind, my unconscious, giving me certain messages that will help me in life. It stuck with me. And we years later, a couple of years after he passed, you and I spoke, it was on your conscience. It was on my conscience that he asked us and several other people that that are very close to him to continue with this message. Thanks to you kind of putting yourself out here.
I know it's not easy. You're not a media personality, you know, but you were one of the closest people to him in his life. And I know that he shared with you you as confidant. And it helps with having you here, talking to those people that were very close to him, his inner circle. Lauren, her father, a couple of other doctors that that knew his methodology and learned from him do different interpretations and also a wider circle of people that are in line with his message. Having you here, it makes this a little bit easier because you're coming at this from a point of a layperson, which was what I was trying to do.
We came to the conclusion that this podcast would be the best way to go forward. We talked about documentaries, about little programs, but this is the way of today is podcast and talking to people. And that's how we came to this point. It's a lot like the interpretation of a dream in that you keep walking the path and till you find the right avenue to go down. And that's sort of what we were doing with documentary or shorts or how do we get to this? And when we talked about the podcast, it was like, my gosh, yeah, that's that's the avenue I want to walk down.
It's still going to be hard. I know. I know the viewers. You're watching this. I hear what I hear. These people talking about love, dreams. How do you know what dreams of me? And you know, we all have these preconceived notions of what dream interpretation is. I've looked in a lot and the history of dream interpretation for this program and just my own interest from Kings of Past. They wouldn't go into wars until they had their dreams interpreted too. It factors in heavily in history, but it's hard to it's hard to tell people that your dreams are giving you messages.
Your dreams are giving you very personal messages that can help your life very hard. I don't expect them to understand it. Yeah, I didn't understand it until I had one dream. Interpret it because I always thought, Doctor sits there and they hear about your dream and they tell you this is what it means. It's nothing like that. He's been doing this for 50 years and thousands of thousands of dreams, and it's not it's not as if he has a formula of what these dreams mean. It's just having done it so much. And in hindsight, he said, you know, this patient had a dream a month ago, was telling me this, now look what happened.
So there's something inside them. Their memory is telling them what's correct for them. And I still didn't understand it. So when he sat there and it was a I'm not going to get into the specifics of the dream, it might not matter to the people. They might not understand it. Although I know, Doctor, Dr. Lauren Weiner, she's going to be talking about some dreams, interpretations and telling you how they go about it. Yes, it's still going to be a little bit difficult to understand, but they have to understand that there is light at that. This is not just hocus pocus that they're talking about.
Writing down your dreams helps. Talking to your analyst, talking to your therapist, talking to people about it helps. But what I realize is it's not the doctor. It's not Dr. Bail or Dr. Wiener telling you what this dream is. It's them asking you questions about your dreams, and all of a sudden they ask enough questions, and all of a sudden it clicks somewhere with you. This is the message. This is what? That dream. You know, I've interviewed a lot of the patients of Dr. Bail and Dr. Weiner and some of the people that are supporting this program.
And I understand why they're so passionate about it. I understand why this has changed their life and that one dream it taught me, it's not like that one dream changed my life. But understanding that these thoughts, these these ideas are coming from within me. It's a very emotion and a spiritual experience. It is when I talk to the patients before they compared it to God. I mean, what is God? It's all loving, all knowing, a good, compassionate source that that cares for you and is trying to do the best for you. I guess that's what your unconscious is.
So going back to the dream, it wasn't the fact of, you know, Dr. Bail listened to this dream and told me this is what it means. They ask you in this process, they ask you, where were you? Which way were you looking? Who was there? Like a million questions. And it brings back these memories and all of a sudden it becomes vibrant and the message comes through. But it also helps that the other person on the other side knows you, knows your life, knows the circumstances of your current life, and what your state of mind is, what your worries and anxieties are, and can correlate this dream into what your unconscious is telling you.
It's not an easy process to grasp from the outside, but we're hoping to start somewhere. One of the difficulties Dr. Bail saw is that he didn't have time to train enough people in this. There's only a handful of people, but getting the word out that there is such a thing as the meanings of your dreams, then you are unconscious. So I think it's important that we talk about this. I don't know how effective, to tell you the truth. I don't know how effective will be in like helping somebody out there listening to this, have a dream and understand what it is.
But just knowing that there's something there, I think it's important to what we're doing. I do, too. I think if we can show people that these dreams really are these precious gifts that give us this information about ourselves, and we don't just think of it as willy nilly silliness, we can get somewhere. And. Dr. Bails, hope was that we could do just that, start with laypeople and create a curiosity at the very least, which then they can share with other people they can bring back to their therapists or the people that they trust. Not all of us have therapists or can even afford therapists, but maybe this is just a way to open a window a little bit and give us a new perspective.
And I am impressed because you just had the moment in time to have this one dream interpreted and you probably went in, I don't want to speak for you thinking, okay, I'll try this, but what could this really be? It molded into this thing and it's just as you say, you reach this place and you think, that's it. I mean, that totally strikes a chord. I, I feel that. I mean, literally feel that. And it's. Magical. It really is. I would ask them, how do you know if you're right about a dream interpretation? You might be interpreting a dream and kind of totally giving the wrong message to a person.
They might be under the false assumption. What he told me is, So I don't know if it's right. The patient knows if it's right. Yeah, they know. How do they know this is a dream that they know? And but that's hard to think about before the fact. It's hard to explain that to people in a camera on a podcast. It is. It is there. I don't know how we're going to bring back this methodology to give access to people because again, one of the things when I was working for Dr. Bail, when we were doing this, I would ask him, I'm like, What's your point in doing this?
What are you trying to do? Are you trying to raise money or are you trying to get more people, more doctors to do this? Are you trying to promote your your your teachings? He said, no, I just stumbled into something that I know can help humanity and I don't want it to die with me. It's unfortunate that he wasn't able to train people, a lot of people. It's unfortunate that he wasn't able to start a school of this. I'll tell you, a lot of the people that he's trained are not really interested in coming here and sitting cross and doing. They're not really media personality is they're not out there for getting exposure and getting likes.
They're not they're not going to be doing this. They're not going to come out here and put themselves in this position. They're helping people on a daily basis. They have successful practices with very influential people. But even some of those patients of these doctors are the people that are supporting this this foundation. I want people to know, like, who's doing this? It's mostly the patients, the people that have had access to this kind of therapy. Actually, they're some of the people that have moved me when they talked to me about when I talk to this one gentleman who telling me about this first dream that was interpreted 45 years ago, and he breaks down and cries with tears.
And again, when he first did that, I don't understand, like how the how does he how is he getting so emotional about a dream 45 years ago? There's really something there. And I'm hoping that we can revive this this idea. I'm hoping that with more more attention to this subject, more therapists out there will be pursuing this, not necessarily just Dr. Bail's teachings, but this this concept of your unconscious, your dreams, giving you information. One of the interesting things that Dr. Bail had me do is go to it. There's a Dr. Moses that he was an ophthalmologist, he was an eye doctor.
I said, Why is he sending me to this eye doctor? He was an older gentleman, kind of like Dr. Bail. And I went there and he had all these refractory lenses and stuff and was trying to increase my my capacity to observe things through my eyes. And I realized, you know, what he was telling me is like, I'm sitting here from you, you're sitting here for me, I see you sitting there. But there's a lot of things in the background that my conscious mind is not observing, but my unconscious remembers how many panels are on that wall, How many, how many leaves are on that flower?
Your brain absorbs these and has this information, but your conscience is only able to kind of calculate 2 to 5% of it, whereas a 95% go well, it goes in your unconscious. How does your unconscious convey this messages through this information to you? It does through your dreams. It does it through the language that a lot of us don't understand. And that's a hard thing to grasp, that we're actually capable in some fashion of storing all of this information. It's all stored there, but how do you access it? Some people talk about hypnosis, some people talk about other areas, but your brain is on a nightly basis conveying to you this information of how to better your life, how to make the right business decision, how to make the right decision in your love life, how to make the right decision, and your job.
It doesn't necessarily have to be profound things, but it's just there trying to help you how to do things right. That's a fascinating part of this that grasps me and it pulls you in. He had a larger philosophy of what this was supposed to do, which goes to you as a fetus, analyze you as a fetus, not when you were born, even before that, that you're a culmination starts with your mother. It's your father and family and stuff. But the mother is the most important factor she's carrying. You. She's carrying you. She needs to survive. It's the thing that's lasted forever.
The mother needs to survive. The mother has these fears and anxieties and things that scare her, things that worry her. And from the time you're in the fetus, it put inside you and the fetus absorbs it because it wants the mother to survive. Doctor Lauren Weiner explains this much better than I do. I'm looking forward to people understanding the concept of this and then learning the details of it from the experts. But that's a fascinating thing that the whole thing Dr. Bail tries to do is peel all these layers, this onion of imprints and fears and anxieties and get to the core person of who you would have been if all these things didn't come and influence you.
Of course, the influence is part of life, but still there is a core human being under there. The major part of this is happiness. It's not necessarily making money, success, being happy. And I interviewed some of the some of the patients that that go through this. And I was asking, well, this is what helps you succeed. Like, no, I was rich. I was I was really successful, but I could never be happy. I learned to be happy with it. And this whole concept of love, you know, it seems kind of sometimes hokey talking about love and but there's a deeper definition of love that he talked about and it comes from this understanding.
Love comes from truth, love from knowing, knowing yourself, knowing who you are. Then you can love the world around you. There's a very deep message, kind of. I do a lot of different projects for different people, different ideas. But this one kind of touched me personally. That's why I'm here with you doing this. And I realized, you know, some of our viewers, I think, what are these guys talking about? This seems oversimplified. It's not there's a lot of substance to it. It's difficult to convey it in one message. It took me a couple of years, and even after that, I couldn't really understand it fully until I had a dream interpretation.
But I hope we can do a little bit better than I was able to do. Learning. Yes. Well, love is this word that we just throw around and attach to all sorts of things. So I think when we typically think of love, we don't think of it in the terms that Dr. Bail did. Basically, that's it. Use truth. You just Yeah, and you just start with love. And we're not going anywhere until we all figure out what love really is. And it's more than figuring it out. It's feeling at it and knowing what that feeling is and then making sure you share that feeling with the people around you.
That's why I think it's more natural when we do this with you. And I think the fact that you're doing this from a layperson's perspective, which is how you learn this concept, you know, you're not a psychoanalyst, you're not a psychiatrist, but the fact that you're here asking the questions of these experts and you're trying to help the audience understand this difficult concept, maybe that gives us a better advantage of of being able to convey this message. Maybe if you can convince me, maybe I can convince some of our audience. I don't want you to undersell yourself because you were trained with him for a long time.
Yes. And there is a difficulty of of this message in the cycle analysis field. I had access to Dr. Bail's archives. This is not a new message. He's been fighting for this for years, for decades, like 30, 40 years. He's he's been he's had this theory. He's been working on it. He's out there fighting. And I've seen him, you know, he's at at conferences and at talks where everybody just. Shut him down. Tackles him, just try to knock him down at every point. And he spent his whole lifetime fighting for what he believes in, which also makes it a little tough because I can't imagine any other psychoanalyst wanting to put herself or himself in that position of getting attacked and bombarded.
Yes. So I think the way you're doing this from kind of a lay perspective opens that up, makes it a little less confrontational within the field itself. Well, and there's been many times where we've attempted to take our message, say, via the film or or in another way to some of the institute's and there's there's no interest. So that hasn't changed. As as hard as Dr. Bail was fighting and the walls that he came up against there, they're still in place. True. So coming at it from this angle, we hope we can get somewhere. And this again was Dr. Bailes.
Suggestions start from the ground up. Yeah, that's what he wanted. I asked him. I said, Who's your ideal audience? These are the people of birthing age, young people, particularly women, because they can change. They can change the world. That's the next generation. Yes. Not that. Like for somebody like me, they're middle ages. This message is not important. I'm not having children. I'm not creating the next generation. Yeah, this message has to be inserted into a certain age to help humanity. And, you know, we asked them, how long do you think it will take?
And he said, a long time, many generations. But it has to start somewhere. And his main message was we have to treat our women better. We have to treat women that are going to be mothers better because it's not a matter of man or woman. It's because those fears, those anxieties that ill treatment that you give to women, it goes to your children, boy or girl. Yes, they're going to be raised with that. So whatever you do to these women will happen to your next generation. And it makes sense. It's a tall order to do this universally. But if there is a understanding of this concept, at least we start somewhere.
Yeah, well, and and there is this urgency which can really best be satisfied by these women that are of birthing age because they can most immediately affect the next generations. But when you look back, as you're saying, and you see how women were treated through the ages, I mean, you can't help but know that those imprints just carry on. You. You as a woman oftentimes don't even think you can step out of that zone, that this is the way things are supposed to be. And you don't even give it a thought that things could be different. I am a second class citizen.
I am to be looked down upon. I am not smart. And if your mother has that as a message to you, what do you how do you improve on that? We don't want to make this a male bashing thing. No, I don't believe in that. Nobody's here to put blame on men for what's happened in the past. We as human beings, we as a as a species are here because of a sustainable evolutionary strategy. It was a successful evolutionary strategy. Our wars, the way we acted, the way we conquered this planet, the way we came from nomadic to tribal to cities, to civilizations, to religion, to countries, to our belief systems.
Now it has been sustainable and a bit successful until now. But human beings with with our war making abilities, our ability to wage war has outpaced our abilities to understand what we're doing, whereas we as human beings are in danger. Now. Our civilization, our species, is in danger. So our sustainable evolutionary strategy is no longer sustainable because, you know, within the century, you know, how close are we are to this doomsday Clock with wars? Yes, 2024. And we're still fighting Russia and China and Islam and the West. And I'm not saying what's right.
I'm not making it. But there's something evidently wrong. That's that hasn't. Changed. That hasn't changed. But again, maybe it's gotten worse. When we were throwing sticks and stones on each other when we were shooting each other with arrows and spears or with guns. 20th Century I study history. 20th century was horrible War one, World War two. How many people died? Vietnam, Korea, the Middle East, all South America, all these wars. And though we were in this really dangerous area with Russia, there was two countries with nuclear weapons. And now we have more countries.
Now it's a multipolar world with a lot of countries having nuclear weapons. And we're really at a point where it's seriously we have to change our paradigm. How long can we go forward like this without a slip up, without a mistake? Yeah. And how is it going to change? How are you going to change societies and countries and governments to accept each other? It sounds corny when he talks about love again. What is that love? That love is understanding that love is empathy. That love is understanding. We're all a part of a thin bio layer on this ball of rock, which is encircling another ball, which is in a nuclear fusion.
Unless we see each other as this and see the bigger picture and the bigger picture, where is it? It's in our minds, It's in our unconscious, it's in our souls. That's what religion has always tried to achieve. I think religion always tapped into our our unconscious, our spirituality. And this is another way of scientifically trying to tap your spirituality, your unconscious, your deeper mind. Again, you know, I'm not the expert on this, but what I've learned and what I've discovered, it's made it that it's a worthwhile pursuit for me to. Even though Dr. Bail is not around, I know Dr. Lawrence Weiner has a lot to teach.
I know Dr. Alan Wiener has a lot to convey. I know there's a lot of smart people that have followed with this, and I'm hoping that we get some of them to come out here. I'm hoping we get some of the people that have benefited from this to come out and talk about it. It's a very personal thing to come and talk about your dreams, but I'm sorry to say it, but most of these doctors are treating very well off people because those are the only people that have the means to access this kind of information. I mean, I mean, as a layperson, I, I don't know if I would ever had access to a doctor Bail to tell my dream and interpret it.
But this needs to be accessible to the masses and not just a few fortunate people. And and I'm happy to know that several of these fortunate people that have benefited from this are actually supporting this program to get this information out. Yes, me, too. It's it's wonderful and it is a bit of a challenge. I think, to share something so personal. You had a dream that changed your life or a set of dreams that turned you into a completely different being. You know, it's emotional. It's a lot to bring forward. And I'm so impressed with these people that are offering it up for us.
They know they have been blessed with something really good in their life and they want to share it. So let me ask you a question for our audience. Sure. They probably want to know what is she doing? Why is she doing this? I know you have a very comfortable life. You don't need to be doing this. You have your own business and you're very busy. I want I want you to explain what it was that made you want to do this. Spend this time energy. Put yourself out here in the public eye where I know it's not the most comfortable place for you. It's new to me.
It's new to you. What? What? What made you want to do this? Well, it is, as you say, Dr. Bail lovingly came to me and said, if it's in your heart to bring this in some fashion to the world in a little bit or in a big way, please go. That would be fabulous. But if not, you know, I still love you to pieces. And there you go. But he so changed my life. I mean, clearly, he was a man that I was in love with. His loving support changed my life. I feel like what we're talking about, I have to a large degree achieved. There's more to come. I think for the rest of my life I'll be growing and learning.
But I've been able to uncover a good part of who I know I truly am and the feelings basically love that is associated with knowing who I truly am. I'm not that thing that needs to get good grades. I'm not that thing that my father thought I should be. I'm not that thing that has to show up a certain way in the neighborhood, whatever it might be. There's a real unique being here, and that's the case for all of us. We're each unique beings. I started out thinking, okay, you know, I'll do this. This maybe this will be cute because I liked the man.
He was pretty cool guy. And I came to him with a dream once because I wasn't sure what to talk to him about. We were at lunch and I was working for him as a as an interior designer. And I didn't realize who this man was. I had no idea the scope of him. And so I shared a dream with him. And he at that point did not interpret it for me. But he heard it and he said, okay, I know this woman and I want this woman in my life. This probably sounds crazy, but his understanding of my dream and my understanding of my dream in this weird set of circumstances showed us how much we loved each other.
And I was basically saying to him via the dream, how much I loved him, and I didn't even know it. And I just when I finally came to know that and see that there was a way for me to access this precious thing that I didn't really understand, but I could sort of get little twinkling of around the fringe. my gosh. I thought, It's all right there. It's all right there. I'm. I, I. It's all inside you. my gosh. And and when I finally felt it and could give in to that and trust it, I just wanted more. I mean, it opened the floodgates and I started writing down dreams.
I was I was able to remember so many dreams. I couldn't write them all down. It takes over. It becomes addicting. You want more? Yes. And now I look back through my archives and I don't know. There's hundreds of dreams. And even today, it's fascinating sometimes to just go back to the beginning and then maybe in the middle. I haven't been writing them down lately, and I would like to, but just to see the change in the dreams and remember the interpretation and then to see why those dreams changed. You know, in the beginning, the dreams with all the wild animals in the front yards and burying their teeth.
And those guys all went away. Those are big, horrible, scary dreams. And I don't have them anymore. And they uncovered for me something about me that even just knowing that about myself made that subtle. It made it go away. This thing that I thought I had to contend with, I didn't really have to contend with because that wasn't me. That was this thing that I thought I needed to be. And of late, I've even had people friends say to me, you know, you're you're different. You are so much more open. You're so much more giving of yourself. You used to be a little kind of clammed up, like very, very protective.
And if you had asked me to do this and you wouldn't have 15 years ago, there'd be absolutely no way, no way. But now I need to share this gift with as many people as I can. I just need people to know that there is that fabulous truth in this very basic love, this feeling. I think one of the most interesting parts about this is all the answers are within us. Yeah. There's nothing external that you need to tap. There's no guru that you have to follow. There's no book that you have to read. There's no religion that you have to adhere to. The answers are within you.
Now, sometimes when you it doesn't have to be a profound answer. My dream was not a profound dream, but it was just telling me about my childhood and just some of the difficulties and sometimes why some of my anxieties come from where it comes from. But wasn't that fascinating that you were able to change me? And what changed me was not necessarily the message, but the messenger. Yeah, the messenger that knowing that, you know, I have this inside of me, I have this ability, this, this source of knowledge inside of me, and. That, you know, you can somehow access that it's not it exists.
It's loving. I mean, who loves you more than yourself? Who cares for you more than your conscience and your all knowing mind of no knows you knows everyone you met, knows every experience you've had, knows every good part, bad part insecurity, and is giving you messages of, Hey, this is what you should do. This is how you should behave, to be happy to get through in life again. A lot of people compare it to God. Yes. Which is again, it's just all knowing entity which is loving and caring and wants the best for you and gives you good advice. But sometimes when you actually hear that internal voice, you see that internal message.
It's like, Where is this coming from? Is this God telling me, No, this is my self telling me, Yeah, you don't go back to being the same person. I only regret that I didn't have a chance to do more right before he passed. He did this couple of dreams with me and but it stuck with me. And again, I don't have answers for people, but I want I encourage people to write down their dreams. Yes. Night. You wake up, you write it down, think about it. Talk to people about it. Talk to your therapist about it. Talk to your loved ones about it. Compare it.
I know, Doctor. Dr. Lawan, we know he's going to be talking about some dreams and some interpretations of how these doctors come to these conclusions. Maybe it'll shed some light for people and they'll be able to have more insight into it. I think we'll be able to see if we write down enough dreams as laypeople. You'll start to see your own symbols. You'll start to see patterns like why am I always wearing a white shirt? And you can start to think about that. Well, you know what? What in my life makes me think of a white shirt? Why? Why that? Or why am I thinking about my school teacher from the third grade?
What does she represent? Maybe it's more than her being a school teacher from the third grade. It's all. Symbols. It is. And I think truly, if you really sit down and have a series of dreams that you can kind of go through, you start to be able to see the patterns and figure out how they tie into your life and what emotions they bring up. Well, that's what Dr. Bail did. Yeah, he listened to the dreams, wrote it down, dealt with people for years, and after a while he realized is a pattern in these dreams. I'm sure you're going to be talking about this.
But he had a breakdown at a while because he realized the current method that I'm using is not helping people. And he said, I felt I got sad, I stopped working. I went into depression myself because I thought, I'm not helping anybody. This was his revelation. And he came back with this. He said, It brought me out of my depression because I realized I'm I figured out how to help people. I've figured out decoded this message that that our minds are giving us. He's gone. There's some people that know his methodology, but the truth of what he spoke is there it is.
So we can follow it. Other people can follow it, other people can tap it. That's kind of what we're doing here, I guess. Yeah, it would be such a treasure if we had him here with us. We'll try to bring him in. We'll try to bring him. I have some old archival stuff. It wasn't meant for this platform. It was more question and answers that he had and interviews, but we'll bring in little tidbits of him. And I also, like I said, I think Dr. Loren can teach us a lot about this. I think she can. I think her father can can shed light on this. There are several other people that can and I hope, you know, you're successful in your endeavors and I'm here to help you out with whatever I can.
Thank you so to speak, to Dr. Bail's struggle when he was really having a hard time. Part of that was because he was in therapies with really renowned analyst notes and he enjoyed the time with them. It was seems sort of intellectual and they're sharing ideas. But he never, ever felt he was changing, like he was improving himself. He still couldn't find that road to happiness, couldn't figure out what love was. And from that, how could he help his patients? He could see that there was it was just this churning of the same thing. And to let go of absolutely everything, it all off the table and sit there with a new clean notepad and just write it all down.
This was before we had any computers, and I still have notebooks, thousands of notebooks in my garage, and I just can't read his writing. But to do that enough and to have that feeling much like we're talking about when your dream is interpreted and you finally get to that feeling. He he saw this, my gosh, these people are all sharing the same thing. I can see what our issues are. There's this imprint that we all carry around, not all the same, but everybody's got an imprint and all of us have to figure out what to do about that, because that's not the thing you want to base your life on.
It was it was a way for him to survive himself. His dreams saved him and he was able to save other people. He was stretching to find things to do that could help heal. And he tried this. He tried that. I mean, look at these paintings. He was painting just like just as an outlet. And looking back on his paintings, you know, many years later, you can see how much of his internal being he was pouring out. I wish I would have had an opportunity to talk to him more about that because his paintings fill my house and sometimes I'll walk by one and think, Gosh, you know, what was he getting out or what was he learning about himself through the course of this painting?
It's not just the dreams. There's all kinds of ways that you can express yourself or get your feelings out and try to find your real being. I mean, he was trying to do that with these. There's one painting we have at home that's he didn't even know it. It's just a big box of trash. And he was just trying to unload that. That was in him. And we did talk about that. And he said, Yeah, that's that's what that is. Well, I'm glad you brought these paintings and I'm glad you brought his books and his his personal of his personal furniture and some of his stuff.
Because not only is it esthetically pleasing for this set, but it creates that mood. I know he asked us to continue this. He didn't ask for anything other than just spread the message. Yes, for me, usually when I do projects for clients, there's an end goal increase sales, branding, what have you make money? You know, there's that. But really there's nothing you want of people. There's no action item to go over here and purchase this or donate money to this. Anything other than I hope it helps you. And that was his intent until the very end. He was concerned about this, even though like at the age of 100, there's a lot of other concerns.
He was trying to work with us. He was trying to work with me to get this information. And I saw how important it was where he couldn't even talk, he couldn't even breathe. And his eyes were watering and still kept trying to talk. He was using every ounce of his being to try and make a stop. And he was disappointed that he couldn't be, that he knew. He understood how hard it is and he understood the challenges that we had. Because he always told me, he said, you have a very hard job. You have a very hard job to do. And every time I try it out, sometimes I felt like I'm failing.
I understand this and I don't get it. And he just said, Keep at it, keep at it. And like what we were talking about, I guess I'm the outsider in this because I came from the outside and tried to learn it. And there's a lot of people that are insiders who've been trained by Dr. Bail, who have been who have been seen by therapists, trained by Dr. Bail. And what we're trying to do is explain this to the outsiders you are an outsider to you. You learn this coming in from from the fringes. Yes. And I remember thinking, I'll never get this, or I don't want to talk about my dreams or I didn't dream, I didn't dream, I didn't dream.
And all of that's part of the project. It's all part of the picture. I mean, the times where you really don't remember a dream because you always do dream. You just might not remember it. Those moments are important. Why are you not remembering? Is there something here that's pretty potent and we can't wait for that to come up in a dream, you know, 16 days from now. What's the training? Yeah, that's kind of what my message is to the people that are watching this and are questioning it is you don't have to believe me. You don't have to believe Cynthia.
You don't have to believe any of these doctors. But just keep an open mind and try to write down your dreams, Try to understand them, Keep writing it down every night when you wake up, it gets easier when you when you start acknowledging it, Then they come in waves. You get more of them. You get they become more, more clear, more vibrant. Just for yourself. It's an important thing to just experiment. It really is. I mean, it's actually kind of fun. And you can even, I think, help train yourself to remember your dreams. Even at night when you get in bed, you can say something like, I'd really like to remember my dreams tonight.
And you do that a few times and and you can help make it happen. It's within all of us. Yeah, I think it really is important. And I'm glad that you said it. For people to know that we are just like them, that we have this little gift of a little extra bit of information, enough to more than make us intrigued. On some level, both of our lives have been changed and along with Dr. Bail, we really want that for everyone. What is humanity about? We're not meant to fight each other all day long in our homes across our nations. We're meant to really support and love each other and enjoy each other.
I mean, what does love lead to? Enjoyment And we do a lot of projects. I do a lot of commercial projects. We do different podcasts about politics, about history, about current events. It might seem like this is a trivial subject people talking about love and healing and dreams. And I think out of all the projects that I do, some of them may be more exciting, more sensational. I think this is very important. This is a very important message, the most at this time for humanity, for our species. It provides a different path forward. It's not an easy path.
It's a path of unlearning a lot of what we've learned. That's a good point. Sometimes learning is easier than unlearning, and you have to unlearn a lot of what you've learned. Going this route requires a lot of inner strength because you have to kind of deal with your demons at one time, deal with the internal saboteur that you have within you. And recognize. That and recognize that. Sometimes you think he's really a friend and he's nothing but a foe. Or she learn your fears, learn where your fears came from, learn the rationale for why they are there.
You deconstruct those, whether they're from your mother's imprint. There's other imprints that were handed down to you through life. You get to the core, and that's what all the major philosophies, religions, practices were to try to give you peace of mind, to try to give you love, to try to give you comfort. This is another path to that same direction. It's a vital path because it tries to access something others don't, which is your unconscious. And you know, some people say subconscious, but Dr. Bail said there's no subconscious. There's the unconscious and the conscious Unconscious is trying to convey this information to your conscious and you need to learn this exchange of information.
You need to learn this language. You need to learn how this trying to tell you these things. And I think when people think about it, they all know that this is here. We all have that there's not a single one of the people out there that doesn't have dreams and wonders like, what the heck does this mean? So this is a way of finding out. Again, I'm not saying we're going to have all the answers, but sometimes asking the right question points you towards the answers. I mean, wouldn't it be nice if rather than say, doing everything we can to support our opinion, right or wrong or what?
It doesn't matter what anybody thinks, instead of making not the focus, listen to the other person that you're trying to press his opinion on and and hear them to really hear them. And I think that is a gift, a giant gift that comes from this. That's love. Being able to listen to those, especially when you're pretty sure you don't like their opinion. But to be able to hear them out and to let them have their opinion and to be able to still love them. It's such an easy time to hate people. It's such a easy time to make sides say, I'm on this side and I'm against the other side.
It's so easy. Whether within America, within the world, within every society, there's fractures or ridges or there's breaks. Now it's even drifted down into, you know, our nuclear families. Yeah, maybe this is a path forward. We're going to be exploring this together. Well, thank you so much. I love talking with you today. And we may end up doing this again. I would love to. I think you have a lot of I know you have your guest lists of who you're bringing. We're busy. You have a lot of interesting people to bring in. I hope to come back at one time, but I think there's a lot of learning to do.
You have a lot of a lot of people to bring in here and expose to the audience. Let's see how we go. All right. Well, thank you again. And thank you listeners and viewers. I'm here learning with you and we look forward to seeing you next time. This is and now last.
